Cultured marble is formed from a combination of resin and marble dust, creating an extremely hard polymer. Most people love to install it within their showers as it is less expensive than marble stone. Cultured marble does not need periodic sealing as it is a stain-resistant material. It is not porous like marble, but non-abrasive items and inappropriate cleaners can diminish the value of the stone. Cleaning Cultured Marble Tile and Grout:
Water has a combination of calcium and magnesium, creating hard dots on the surface after it dries. Hard water and a heavy build of soap scum are nothing short of a burden in showers. We are able to deliver that fresh new cleanliness to your shower, which once glistened across the surface, with our patented cultured marble cleaning process. We will clean the tile and grout with Benaz – a powerful cleaner, creating an incredible look by eliminating all the hard dots, bar soap and etching. It will not damage the integrity of your tile and grout.
If there are tile and grout cracking issues, we will repair the cracks instead of replacing the tile and grout. We will use Sentura, which is a two part pigmented flexible solvent epoxy/resin. It is designed with a 1200psi adhesion that will protect the surface for a lifetime. We will not just rectify the cracking issue, we will also color match the Sentura to the cultured marble, polish and blend the crack into the surface. We can pigment this product in over 40 colors to suit your needs.
Coating Grout with Titanium:
Just cleaning the cultured marble cannot keep the durability and beauty of your shower. Grout is a very porous substance, filling voids between the tiles. Once it has been cleaned, it will allow the occurrence of mold, mildew and stains again. But, it’s not a problem for us since we always perform grout color sealing after we clean the surface. Most companies use water based sealers since they are cheap and easy to work with, but they will peel and wear off the grout within months while causing mold and stains.
We will coat the grout lines using an exquisitely designed sealer – Caponi®. It is a two part pigmented titanium resin chemical resistant sealer, penetrating deep into the grout lines while making them waterproof to prevent the passage of moisture. The best thing is, it comes in more than 40 color options to deliver that lush natural look to your shower.
Replacing Caulk with Sentura:
Caulking is a band-aid solution, as it will fail in six months, while coming out of the corners. This is what causes the growth of mold and mildew. Caulk also delivers a bad look in the corners. We never caulk or re-caulk the shower, we always replace the caulk with Sentura, waterproofing the joints while bringing that beautiful look you strive for. Sentura will never peel and will protect the corners for a lifetime with its thin and natural lines.
Sealing Cultured Marble with a Clear Topical Product:
Once you start to shower, the cultured marble will become porous to some degree. Only the correct cultured marble sealing process can keep its look and durability. We will coat your stone using the world’s most powerful stone sealer – Celine. It is a clear topical solvent based resin sealer, soaking into the surface while adding an incredible sheen to the cultured marble. Celine creates a waterproofed shower preventing future staining and etching issues.
