Does your Shower have Mold? See How our Tile and Grout Restoration can Help

D'Sapone Admin, June 22, 2017

Mold growth in showers is a common issue for homeowners. It is a fungus that can quickly take place over the entire surface and become a nuisance, if not taken care of with high quality products. Furthermore, it can also stain the grout, making the shower look unpleasant. Not only does mold render an unappealing look in showers, it also has a pungent smell. Mold and mildew lurk in the humid environment. First, they stick to the grout and thrive, damaging the floor and walls.

Shower Restoration Eliminating the mold and mildew can be very tough and this task must be performed with care, else it is nothing short of a burden. That’s why a professional tile cleaning service is usually required to get rid of this issue permanently.  If you are struggling with this unsightly problem in your shower, D'Sapone® is here to rectify the issue with a 5 year labor warranty. Our ‘Healthy Shower’ service comes with quality processes that are listed below…

Eliminating Mold Using a Penetrating Cleaner:

Tile and grout are porous, allowing mold to soak deep into the surface. Cleaning the shower with regular products doesn’t remove the deep mold and also causes damage to the tile and grout. Achieving that perfect cleanliness using cheap products is not possible. We pay attention to every detail and that’s what Separates D'Sapone® from the status quo companies. We only apply patented restoration products designed by pFOkUS® – one of the best tile cleaner and sealer manufacturing companies. We Spray Imperia – a powerful penetrating shower cleaner, throughout the entire tile and grout eliminating mold, mildew and stains at the root. It cleans, preps and sanitizes the surface while seeping into the floor or walls. Imperia also lifts the existing sealers without damaging the shower.

Shower caulking is a temporary band aid solution since it will fail in a short order. Most contractors perform caulking or re-caulking – replacing the old caulk with new caulk, that will peel and wear off the corners within months. Caulk softens, re-emulsify and lose its bond in humid places and comes out of the joints, allowing mold to lurk in the corners. Mold and mildew are not visible to the naked eye and they will grow over the tile and grout in a short order. Instead of caulk, we fill the corners with Sentura – a two part pigmented flexible solvent based epoxy/resin, formulated with a 1200psi adhesion. It will never wash out of the joints and will prevent the growth of mold with its sleek and beautiful lines. Before we fuse Sentura in the corners, we pigmented it to suit the project’s needs. It can be pigmented in over 40 colors.

Shower-Caulk-replacement Repairing the Cracked Tile and Grout without Replacing:

Tile and grout cracking issues are nothing short of a burden as they look unpleasant and also cause the birth of mold. If there are cracked grout lines, we never perform regrouting, which will diminish the value of the surface within months. We repair the grout using Sentura – the most powerful adhesion in the world, that not just repairs the cracks, it makes everything better. We also use the same product to rectify tile cracking issues. Replacing the cracked tile with the new tile just makes the shower look bad. Sentura protects the tile for a lifetime with a lush natural look.

Sealing Grout with Titanium:

Grout is a cement based substance that continuously absorbs water or moisture, giving birth to mold and mildew. Water based sealers just coats the grout lines, but they don’t protect the shower and peels in months. We waterproof the surface while delivering it a beautiful appearance with our quality grout color sealing process. We apply Caponi® – a two part pigmented titanium resin chemical resistant sealer, closing the grout pores to prevent the passage of moisture. Its more than 40 color options are enough to suit your needs.

grout-color-sealing-dsapone Protecting Natural Stone Tile:

Natural stone, such as slate, travertine and marble, is very sensitive to moisture. Once it has been cleaned, it will allow mold and mildew to take place if not coated with a powerful sealer. Not only do we seal the stone, we create a perfect lush protection using Celine – a clear topical solvent based sealer. Celine make the surface waterproof and adds a slight sheen to it.

These restoration processes are enough to get rid of mold, mildew and stain issues for a lifetime.
