Whenever we clean the stone, we always seal it with Repela-Bond – a natural look penetrating sealer. Cleaning travertine only eliminates the stains and etching, but it doesn’t stop the stone from retaining moisture. After we seal travertine, it will have a hydrophobic surface that prevents the staining issue. Repela-Bond doesn’t 100% halt an acid from etching the stone, as it allows travertine to breathe.
